Catching Fire ARC Giveaway

Have you guys ever read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins? Well, if you haven't, you are missing out on A LOT. The sequel to it, Catching Fire, is not coming out until September, but many people were lucky enough to grab an ARC of it during Book Expo America. I wish I could have gone to it, but it was across the country for me since I reside in California. But, I'm very excited to say that for people like me who didn't get the chance to go to BEA or can't wait to read Catching Fire, http://laurenbarnholdt.com/ is currently giving away an ARC and Audio Sample of it to one lucky person. I'm entered in it and I'm dying for the results! For details on how to enter/win, go to http://laurenbarnholdt.com/

Good luck!

The Truth About Forever By Sarah Dessen

This book was the first I've ever read from Sarah Dessen after receiving a recommendation from a friend. That friend insisted the book was extremely good and that I should read it; I didn't believe it at first, but...it turns it was true. Even after coming home from school, I found myself opening the book to where I left off, often too enthusiastic to care that I skipped some lines. Of course, I went back and re-read the whole entire book a second time. It was truly amazing.
(May Contain Mild Spoilers)
I don't know why but with every book I read, I tend to wish for a better ending; a better ending about the heroine and her love interst. I was a little disappointed with how the book ended because it didn't explain much if Macy and Wes really did end up together...
The only character I really hated was Macy's boyfriend, Jason. I mean, how can you go on a "break" with a girl just because she closed out an e-mail by saying she loves you. And then, Jason had to go and tell Macy that maybe they should write a list about what they can expect from a relationship...unbelievable! I'm glad Macy and him aren't together anymore. I understand he helped her get to where she was in life with school after her father's death, but really he just made her strive for perfection, which in reality, you can never get to.
All in all, this was a really enjoyable book to read and I highly recommend it to those who enjoy YA books about family intertwined with a romance, and trying to find out who you really are.
